Your reflections don't wait until you're home — why should your journal?
The mobile alpha marks the next step in bringing MoodHaven's privacy-first approach to wherever you are.
What the Alpha Includes
The first mobile builds focus on the core experience:
- Offline-first encrypted journaling — write anywhere, encrypted on your device, no connection needed
- No mandatory accounts — start writing immediately, no sign-up required
- Optional encrypted sync — connect to your own storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, MinIO, Backblaze, DigitalOcean Spaces) if you want entries available across devices
The alpha is rough in places. UI polish comes after the privacy foundation is solid — not before.
The Philosophy Behind It
Most apps ask for your data to "improve things." That means building analytics, monitoring sessions, and making inferences about you that you didn't consent to.
MoodHaven improves through conversations with users — not through surveillance of them.
The alpha ships with encryption-ready from the first launch. Privacy isn't a feature we add later; it's the reason the app exists.
What Comes Next
The mobile app is part of a longer arc. The desktop app (available now for Windows, macOS, and Linux) is the foundation. Mobile brings that foundation to your pocket. And the Wear OS companion lets you capture voice reflections on your wrist.
Every piece of this connects through end-to-end encrypted sync — across your own devices, without any data passing through our servers.
Follow GitHub Releases for the latest builds. The desktop app is available to download now.
